Altissimo Register - Mouth

In this exercise, the saxophonist plays ascending intervals of a Major 6th, beginning with D6 - B6 and continuing chromatically to F#6 - D#7. The tongue is in “i” position (as in "tree") for pitches from D6 to F#6. The tongue drops back and flattens for the pitches in the altissimo register
(B6 - D#6), changing position for each pitch.
