Articulation - Throat

In this video recording, the saxophonist produces legato and staccato articulations on D4, D5, and D6. The video reveals the shape of the pharangeal space in the various octaves of the saxophone, the movement of the base of the tongue during legato and staccato articulation, and the engagement of the muscles of the pharynx and glottis in producing staccato articulation at a moderate speed.
